Chinese Elms are deciduous trees with small shiny leaves. They have slim twigging on their secondary branches adding visual interest. At the Chinese nurseries where these bonsai originate the branches have been trained for years. Your 5 year old Chinese Elm is an outdoor bonsai and stands approximately six to eight inches tall.
